HERO CHEESE: Kingcott Blue

Presenting our hero cheese for April... Kingcott Blue from Kingcott Dairy!

Made in Kent with raw milk from the Reynolds’ happy herd of VikingReds, Kingcott Blue is a lightly veined, semi-soft blue cheese, with a smooth blue flavour profile. Getting stronger with age, the cheese develops from delicate and creamy to a little more powerful and punchy over a matter of weeks.

At Kingcott Dairy, family, wellbeing, sustainability and exceptionally good cheese all seem to go hand-in-hand.

As cheesemaker, Frank Reynolds told us, “The lower the intensity on the land, the cow, and the dairy, the better for us and our workload – meaning we can spend more time trying to produce a really consistent and great tasting cheese.”

You can read more about the story behind this easy going ‘gateway blue’ in the April issue of Cheese Crowd.
