Delicately sweet, but not cloying and slightly sparkling. Known for its low alcohol and characteristic taste of fresh grapes, stone fruit and blossom florals. Moscato d’Asti is a wonderfully versatile wine, that is perfect for summer afternoons, aperitifs on the terrace and as an end to a meal, ready to accompany the great cheeses, fruit and panettone. Above all, Moscato d’Asti is an authentic wine that expresses a clear sense of place and, as such, it should not be overlooked.

The grapes for this Moscato d'Asti are sourced from vineyards in the Monferrato hills in the south of the province of Asti in Piedmont, Northern Italy. The vines are grown in limestone-clay soil and the average age is 30 years. All the fruit is hand-harvested in early September, then gently pressed prior to fermentation in pressurised tank at cool temperatures.

The fermentation is deliberately stopped by chilling and filtration to retain just 5% alcohol and a completely natural sweetness. It is this freshness and natural sweetness that allows this wine to shine with the peppery, funky character of the Ewe-Blu-Ty. The sweet peachiness and apricot on the palate, that is layered with notes of acacia honey and orange blossom, tempers the piquant spice and salty tang of the cheese. The gentle mousse and bright acidity provide a perfect contrast to the creaminess of the of the paste. This match is a glorious lesson in sweet and savoury.
